Heavy system requirement for Windows Vista

Nigel Page of Microsoft did during the TechEd-conference the specifications from the cloths. He tells works that Windows Vista best on a pc with a graphic card with 256MB memory, 2GB DDR3 at work memory and a serial-ata2 hard disk, according to APC Magazine. the graphic element is probable the mostly critical part in Windows Vista, according to Page.

Vista do not uses longer bitmaps for images, but scale bar vectoren. Vectoren must be calculated, what lake asks by the work memory of the graphic card. The named 256 MB is then also a minimum. Microsoft expects that as soon as Windows Vista appeared, it more graphic cards with 512 MB on the market will come.

The graphic card is by preference a pci-deliberately-card. An agp-card will not get well works, but the maximum from the operating system.

No DDR3 and hdcp

For the 32-snappish configuration of Vista is 512 MB at work memory the absolute minimum. With 1 GB, the good must turn. The 64-snappish variant of Vista requires 2 GB, by preference DDR3. That last one is fit will be rather strange, because DDR3 memory in 2007 available.

Striking is also the high definition (hd)-ondersteuning in the new operating system. Who hd-dvd' s or Blu-Ray-disks want to play, must have a monitor with a hdcp-connection (high bandwidth digital content protection). There is however yet no single tft-monitor available with a such connection. Page: it is at the user to ask where the hdcp-monitors remain.
